Fissure Sealants
Fissure sealants are thin protective coatings painted into the deep grooves of the back teeth, where food and bacteria tend to get trapped.
Who they're for
Sealants are most often placed on children's adult molars soon after they come through, usually around age 6 and again around age 12. Adults with deep grooves can have them too.
How they're placed
- No needles or drilling needed
- We clean and dry the tooth
- Paint the sealant into the grooves
- Set it hard with a curing light
We'll check your sealants at each check-up and top them up if they wear.
