Splints
An occlusal splint, or night guard, is a custom-made plastic guard worn while you sleep to protect your teeth from grinding and clenching.
Signs you might be grinding
- Waking up with a sore jaw, headache or tired face
- Teeth that look flat, worn or chipped
- Sensitive teeth
- A partner hearing you grind at night
How a splint helps
A splint puts a smooth layer between your top and bottom teeth, which helps reduce wear on the teeth and can ease strain on the jaw muscles.
We'll check your teeth and jaw, take a mould, and fit your splint at a second visit. We'll see you again to check the fit.
